Driving Green Change in Care Services

Northam Care Trust, a leading care provider and charity in North Devon, is taking meaningful steps toward sustainability. Known for its high-quality residential and community care, the Trust recently partnered with Butterfly Eco, a digital solar company, to reduce its environmental impact—and its energy bills and delivering when performance matters.

Clean Energy, No Compromise

Butterfly Eco installed a 28kW solar PV system at the Trust’s Bideford site. The results speak for themselves:

25,759 kWh of clean energy generated annually

6 tonnes of CO₂ emissions saved each year

Zero disruption to day-to-day care services

A Digital Performance Matters display in the reception area gives staff, residents, and visitors a live view of the system’s performance—turning energy data into everyday inspiration.

“Butterfly Eco Ltd managed the installation with care and professionalism. Communication throughout was excellent, and the team ensured everything was completed to a high standard.” — Jo Howell, CEO, Northam Care Trust

A Sustainable Future, One Site at a Time

This project is more than a solar install—it’s a visible commitment to a cleaner, greener future for care. With measurable impact and strong community engagement, Northam Care Trust is setting the bar for what responsible care looks like.
